Nearly everyday, we hear some news about what is and is not good for your health. A hormone is released after sex that causes the production of neurons in the olfactory bulb (where your sense of smell is located). - Sex reduces your risk of heart disease. Studies show that having sex three or more times a week cuts a man’s risk of heart attack or stroke in half.
- Sex promotes weight loss, muscle tone, and overall fitness. A good “romp in the hay” can burn 200 calories and gets the pulse rate up.
- Sex tones muscles. Men’s Health Magazine refers to the bed as the best piece of exercise equipment ever made.
- Sex addresses symptoms of depression in women. A hormone found only in semen is absorbed in female, thus regulating female hormones.
- Sex relieves pain by triggering the release of endorphins which relieves pain from headaches, arthritis, and even migraine.
- Sex reduces symptoms of PMS by causing the production of estrogen.
- Sex reduces colds and flu. Individuals who have sex once or twice a week have higher levels of antibodies which are known to boost the immune system.
- Sex improves bladder control. Muscles used for sex are also the same muscles used for holding back your urine. Does the term Kegel exercise sound familiar?
