Tip of the Week: Listen for signs of trouble.

There are a few phrases that tip off a break down in a marriage... Warning_signLee Ann and I were meeting with a couple a few weeks ago when the husband made and interesting statement and tipped off that something was tragically wrong. The husband was being confronted by his wife about a close friend of his when he said, “We’re just friends!”

There are few other phrases that tip off a break down in the relationship like that one.  How about, “I only read it for the articles."
"It only happened once, honestly!"
"It didn't mean anything."
"It was a wrong number."
"I can stop anytime I want."
"I found it at work." (referring to a new piece
of jewelry).
"I have a headache." (for the 10th time)
"I'm tired." (for the 10th time)
"What other bank account?"
“Honestly, I’m telling the truth!”

If you are hearing any of these from your spouse, your marriage could be in trouble.  If you need help, call us at 1-877-866-4372 and ask to meet with a mentor couple.
