veiled_bride_editedThere’s great wisdom in getting to know your bride before the wedding ceremony.

An ambassador to Dubai has had his marriage annulled after discovering the bride was cross-eyed and has facial hair.  The ambassador didn’t make the discovery until the wedding because she wore an Islamic veil on the few occasions the couple had met.  He told the court that her mother had tricked him by showing him pictures of the bride’s sister.  He only discovered the deception when he lifted the woman’s veil to kiss her for the first time.

While the courts annulled the marriage, they refused to make a ruling on the $130,000 worth of gifts he had bought for his new bride and her family.

It just goes to show you that you need to get to know your bride before the wedding day.  That’s not the time to find out that your future spouse has an anger problem, drinking issues or even too much facial hair.

That’s the value of premarital marriage mentoring.  Marriage Matters has a number of trained couples that love to walk engaged couples through what it takes to have a life-long, happy marriage.  Check it out at
