    Know your spouse's money style.

Saving_moneyMoney issues are the number one reason why couples fight. It could be because spouses don't understand each other's money style.

Each person has a certain style in the way they approach money. One style has an attitude that money naturally comes their way. They have an uncanny way of making money. They don't necessarily work too hard at it, and they're not surprised when money comes their way.  When I was in grad school, I sold cars to put food on the table. There were some sales men that worked really hard and others that selling cars was as natural as drinking a soft drink. That's the way some people are in their approach to money. They don't spend a lot, and they don't get bent out of shape when they don't have a lot because they sense that things will change.

A person that has this type of money style can be a real problem when they are married to has a different approach to money. Someone that is a saver, works hard for every dollar or worse yet, equates happiness with money has trouble tolerating a "money comes naturally" type person.

If you sense a problem, call us and ask to meet with a mentor couple. They'll be able to point you in the right direction. Our number is 1-877-866-4372.
